There is a Buddhist belief of a Red Circle of Fate.  Where there is a predetermined destiny that brings together particular individuals at some specific point in their lives to share a common fate.  At any moment there are invisible, inner-workings, just below the surface, creating our destiny.  Makes me think of the body and how it is constantly working, moving, creating, without any visible knowledge of the owner.  Fate and its red circle deciding the future.
